Taking the Number #1 spot on my list is Big K.R.I.T. out of Meridian, Mississippi. The “K” in his name stands for king, and it shows in his music. This is a list mostly of southern artists, and I believe he will go down as one of the all time greats out of the south. He produces almost all of his own material as well. He will probably be remembered as one of the best producer/rappers as well. In songs and interviews K.R.I.T. has mentioned the influence Andre 3000 has had on his music and it shows. He has a very different style than Andre, but he keeps it all grounded in his southern roots. So it feels like the music is coming from a similar place. I hard for me to imagine a fan of Andre 3000 who would not enjoy his music.
