Today I woke up and made a quick trip to Gamescape in Tallahassee, Fl. I had some store credit left on my account. I finally had a moment to spend it and they have a dope setup. They have tables for TCG players like Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh. They added a new comics sections since I left (which looked quite robust). They have PS4s, XBones, Computers, a Duel Terminal, and something that was unexpectedly pleasant… they had Steam Machines.

If you don’t know what a Steam Machine is, it is basically a gaming laptop minus a screen and a keyboard(note: this is called a Box, it is for gaming). It’s a third of the size of a XBone and has superior specs despite it. They actually replaced their large Alienware towers with Steam boxes because they saved them space and money, while maintaining performance.

I never really thought too much about Steam Machines but after using one, I’m convinced its superior to the Xbox and PS4. To begin with, the performance seems to be better. You can play games with a keyboard, mouse and or a controller, because why compromise. Finally the thing that puts it over the top, is the library. You have access to the entire Steam library and the entire GOG Library, etc. Not to mention all the MOBAS, I mean League of Legends on a Steam Box sounds like a dream.

In this current climate console exclusive games are much fewer and furthur apart in release dates. Meaning most of your AAA games are going to see a PC release if not immediately at least in the months to follow(Note: we will be doing an article on PC gaming and mainstream console exclusives. Is PC truely better or is consoles still the king, we will list reasons, as well as venture into areas few seem to brave). I’m not even going to mention mods. Did I also say that its a third of the size of the XBONE.

Meanwhile Black Tarzan and Suchaloser where at FSU ,with Double G getting the ILoveMakkonen posters from Union Productions. They also got the final contract, so its official we are going to do this Cakes show and this Makonnen shit(Turn up).

Ok, time to get back to the music, today was our 1st real practice. We confirmed DJ Double G as our DJ for both the Cakes Da Killa Show and the ILoveMakkonen Show. We had to rig together a speaker setup for practice, since I didn’t travel with mine(back to what I said about the pain of leaving things when you travel). After a few delays we got to practicing and man I’m I glad we practiced(lol). We’re always very familiar with the material, but the thing is…. the details.. the details matter. I think being clear and clean on the mic effects crowd enjoyment and engagement.

So we had to iron out a lot of details, as they say its all in the details. It was things like what pitch are you going to sing that chorus in ? Who is going to back up Suchalooser on “Relay“? Can you do a fill for me on “Back to Beginning“… Network. We practiced a legit four hours; I really didn’t feel like we were where I would have liked to be. You can only practice so much before you destroy your voice, so tomorrow is another day.
