Raury isn’t a large mainstream voice in hip-hop at the moment. So I’m going to make a few introductory posts for his music. I’m going to showcase the 5 most essential songs in Raury’s catalog, in my humble opinion.

Cigarette Song
Cigarette Song is probably my favorite Raury track. The song is a simple concept song. Raury is bad for this girl, but she is addicted to him like cigarettes. I really like the instrumentation on this song, even though its a bit sparse in comparison to his other material. A simple leading guitar opens up into light percussion and a bit of bass. The instrumental is fine, but what really makes the song is Raury’s delivery. Here he delivers one of his most passionate performances in his whole catalog.
The song is so well written and executed I would almost always suggest this as this track to introduce someone to Raury. Their is so much passion here, you almost have to like this song. Try not to get addicted though.
